For years, I have heard people complaining about how fucking hard it is to cancel an AOL account. I remember canceling mine as soon as ISDN became available in my area (98?). The cancellation never happened. A year and a half later, I noticed they were continuing to bill my account. After h-o-u-r-s on the phone with them and Capital One, I ended up with a six month refund, and ate the year of billing before that. They just wore me down to the point where the fight wasn’t worth it. So some guy much smarter than I am had the intelligence to record his conversation with AOL when he tried to cancel: Check him out!
