Every time I see news from Iraq, it is bad. More Americans have died in Iraq than died in the 9/11 attacks. The Iraq war has now lasted longer for the U.S. than World War II, and we have spent $315,000,000,000.00 doing it. While everyone is running around pointing fingers at each other about the awful mess we’re in, maybe we are missing a major point here. Maybe we already won.

Our job in Iraq is to kick terrorisms ass. It is our job to kill or remove terrorists, and to remove not just the terrorists, but their support structure.

When we went in to Iraq, it was to fight terror. Maybe there were WMD’s and maybe there weren’t . Al-Qaida was already there or it wasn’t. But for fucking sure, Al Qaida is there now - with a vengeance. Terrorism is there. Every day. In every way.

Iran and Syria sent their worst into the country to stir shit, and that has been oh-so-successful. Men and women are dying, Sunni, Shiite, and Kurds alike, Butchers and bakers and candlestick makers. Buildings are being blown up, transportation routes are fucked, and terrorists are dying. Lots of terrorists are dying. Those who support terrorists are dying. Those who fund terrorists are dying. Those who wash terrorist clothes, make terrorist shoes, and those who grow terrorist food are all dying: they are dying in droves.

Two years ago, it took massive U.S. force to combat terror.Every day the death toll of American Servicemen and Servicewomen went up right along the death toll of Iraqi terrorists. Today, the daily death toll of Iraqis continues to climb, while the daily death toll of American soldiers has actually gone down this year.

The tides of war have turned. Instead of the violence being Iraqi on American, it is now Iraqi on Iraqi. They are now doing a really awesome job of killing themselves off, with little or no assistance from us. So from where I sit, this is the moment to git on up out-a-there. While Democrats and Republicans and Shiites and Sunnis fight amongst themselves, the thing we wanted to happen - HAS ALREADY HAPPENED! From where I sit, we have won the war. Let’s go home and watch the rest of the melt-down from a safe distance.

In the world of Amp, this is like being in bed with a half-dozen coyote-ugly fuglettes, and it is our job to cull the herd. Get ‘em doing the job for you, and it is time to hit the door. Whew!
